Regional Semi-Finals

Game 17: 13 May at Home for the first round of playoffs in Region 2 vs. Turner (10-0)

We flipped the line-ups for a couple of reasons: 1) we wanted the seniors to end up on the field when the game ended 2) we wanted to change the match from what was expected to something a little unsettling, hoping to see us handle the change in preparation for the rest of playoffs.

And then hours before kickoff, we found out the Gabby Weinrich who had played in virtually every half this season, who had teamed up best with O'Keefe, had sustained a concussion in last night's scrimmage and is probably out for the remainder of the season.  So, we had more to adjust to.

The girls did a nice job ending the match in a half as the Golden Bears played an inspired half, determined to make us go into that second half.

For the most part, we tried to play good soccer, soccer that will help us for Friday night.  The girls met all of our goals for the match—score on two deadballs, attack from the width, etc. And most importantly to get out of Dodge at halftime. We also showed a rebirth of a good D-ball.

We would be hardpressed to find a bad performance from any of the girls. Gabi Cox, in her return to the "9," did score two goals, add two assists and create a corner. It's pretty hard to be more productive than that in 20 minutes. Gabi is the BWhite Player of the Match.

Kelsey Coulter and Gabby Mazzarese scored the first goals of their varsity careers tonight!

Next up: Regional Finals against BV Southwest at Southwest, this Friday night at 6:30

We now stand 9-7-1
